I mounted some Accushot mounts on it, with a Bushnell Sportview 4-12X40 scope when I got it in. Not crazy about the Accushot mounts. They look very nicely made, but the way the side kinks over when tightened just get's to me. I'll switch to BKL's later.
The finish is plain but nice. No character to the wood, but excellent finish. The bluing looks sharp and has a nice blue sheen to it and looks deep. Everything looks quality (trigger, sights, lockup, etc.) haven't looked inside it yet.
Took a pellet sampler outside to do some testing. First shot- a little twangy, harsh recoil and felt some spring spin. The trigger was like a Gamo trigger. I don't think it broke very clean, but I'm just not used to that kind of trigger. Not great at all, but I've heard it can be tuned fairly nice, so that's definitely on the agenda.
My shot groups weren't very good. JSB's shot the best so far. But I would get the occasional flyer from the harsh recoil and spring twist. If the spring twist was consistent, it would group to one side a little high and put several pellets in that group. With no spring twist and a fairly good straight back recoil, the groups shot centered and tight. I basically ended up shooting two groups with it. It will have to be tore down, lubed, tophat, and a good spring guide.
I see good potential from this gun by the way it shoots and the way it groups. Take out the spring twist and harshness, lighten the trigger and it should be a sweet shooter that will last for a long time.
