PSA - AAFTA Field Target - August 13, 2023 - Palmyra, PA

Palmyra Sportsmen's Association (near Hershey, PA) - Field Target - Sunday, August 13, 2023.

 

This match is run different than we typically run our field target events.  The match will follow a shotgun start with a shooters meeting at 9:15am and first shot at 9:30am.  Be at the range and signed up before 9:15am.  Registration and sight in range will be open at 8am.

 

The course is a 60 shot rifle course using the AAFTA ruleset.  There will be 2 targets per lane, 2 shots per target, over 15 lanes.  You will have 5 minutes per lane, timers will be used.

For our August matches, we try to design a unique course with a higher difficulty than we typically configure. The course difficulty was slightly higher than 31 Troyer difficulty. There were a variety of target presentations some were in a shaded and wooded settings, a few open field shots, and several uphill shots. Although, there were a few times we had a gust of wind, it was generally calm throughout the day.

As challenging as this course was to shoot, it was also demanding to setup and take down. I would like to thank everyone that helped with the setup or tear down efforts, it was greatly appreciated.

Thanks to everyone that made the trip out to Palmyra Sportsmens Assoc. we hope to see you all again at future FT events.

If I had to describe the match in one word in would certainly be "instructive"!

Really fun match but no "free Lunch"!

Palmyra Sportsmen is a legit field target destination.
