MRA FT - Match Report for 9/27/2025

We had 8 shooters arrive ready to shoot on Saturday morning started out cool but not cold then warmed up to the mid 70’s, and when you got stuck in the Sun, it got slightly uncomfortable. This is definitely not typical late September weather. The Tran family were the first to arrive Khoa, Khoa Jr, and Lan all helped cut back brush, paint targets set up the sight in. In addition to printing a bunch of score cards and making some very nice 3d printed containers to keep things organized. A BIG thank you to the Tran family. The second group to show up was Karen and Stephan, followed by Martin T, then Leo Gonzales. We had a sight-in until around 9:30, then we decided that since we had a smaller group that we shoot 20 lanes for a total of 80 shots.

It was very fun to shoot some of the lanes we’ve not shot in a while. We started on the lane just before the bridge and went to the end of the woods course, this had one kneeling lane and two standing lanes.There was a slight breeze early on in the match with some lulls of absolute stillness, as the match progressed so did the wind. Things began to get a little bit swirly leaving me scratching my head several times. I’m not sure what the Troyer was, but I’ll make an update once I’ve got that combination of lanes in the spreadsheet. Having said that, my guess would be a 32 or 33 Troyer. I was squaded up with Khoa Jr, and he had an awesome day, only missing 6 shots for the day, 4 of them were standers. Khoa Jr had top honors for the day with the high score, and Karen coming in just

behind him, only missing 8 shots for the day. Once the shooting was completed we all wraped things up tallied up the scores and wrote them on the board. It was great day to shoot at MRA FT.

Thanks for the prompt match report Matt. Some great scores there and delighted to see that Khoa Tran Jr shot so well. The whole Tran family have come along way this year. It has been a pleasure following the progress in FT of this family. Looking for some great results from everyone in the upcoming Nationals.
