As Nationals has been canceled, and there have been a lack of GP events in all but the western states, should the Series be postponed until next year?

JMO……Postpone it. A bunch had to cancel due to state restrictions and such……and not all competitors have the means to travel long distances to attend the ones that still went on.
Just my thoughts………..For those that did attend GPs this year, don't penalize them. Keep their scores and roll them into the 2021 series. If they shot/shoot at the same location/match in 2020 and 2021, take the highest score of the 2. Maintain at least 3 different venues for the final results.

This is not discriminating against those who have not been able to shoot this season ..... There are those out west that HAVE and went to there respective GP's and did shoot.
For many of us the California State & GP will be our 4th GP on the west coast for the year. There should be 2020 GP winners and all will know a bittersweet victory won none the less.
2021 will be the same, some will shoot GP's and some will not .... life goes on until we get normalized once more ... If ever ?

It's not been a matter of choice for many of the nations top shooters. If you want to run a West Coast GP series for the year so be it. It shouldn't be considered part of the AAFTA GP series.

For what its worth, I agree with John. If you want to run a West Coast GP series for the year so be it. It shouldn't be considered part of the AAFTA GP series. There were no GP series east of the Mississippi that I am aware of.

All I'm going to say more on this .. is this.
If the shoe were on the other foot and rest of the country shot there GP's and the West did not …. you better believe we would be SOL to stop the GP as we know it for that year.
I think awards are great, the more winners the better. For those that spent the effort, money, and travel let someone win in 2020. There can be another trophy for 2021. It is not like there is a huge cash prize to roll over lol. It might be nice if all GPs in the year 2020 can be counted as possibly some more GPs could happen this fall to make it more competitive. Normally the GP season is ended with Nationals.

I'd leave it alone. Same stuff might happen next year too. It is what it is.

It's a little late for this debate.
The AAFTA BoG has already decided to keep the Grand Prix this year and matches are allowed to be held until the end of the year.
Here is what I got back in an email when I asked...
"Wayne, Scott,
The BOG has discussed this and we agree that the best thing to do is to cancel Nationals for 2020 and push to 2021. I will be emailing clubs in the next few days explaining the plan forward with regards to the GP and the remainder of the 2020 season. I trust you will reach out to the competitors and if you want to update the general public on the forums about the cancellation and move to 2021, please feel free to do so.
When you have a date in mind for 2021, please let us know. At that time, I will resend the Nats host agreement and we will go from there.
Stay safe, and hopefully we will be seeing you all in 2021.

"Wayne,
We will extend the GP through the end of the year. That way if there are any matches that want to pop up later in the year (in areas warm enough to do so) they have the ability to do so.

There is still time get your GP matches scheduled.. you need to announce 60 days before the match for it to be legal.

Then so be it. If that's what the BOG decided, then that is that. If you guys would have stated that from the beginning, stating this from the early answers to the original post, none of this debate/discussion would have followed. The BOG spoke, and so it is.
I wish all competitor's luck in all Grand Prix and local matches as well. Shoot em straight, next year hopefully will be better.
The Murder Hornets haven't overwhelmed us yet.

Now if AAFTA would post the results to date this year, that would be nice. Normal years you could click on history to see where everyone stood in rifle and pistol, but nothing so far this year.
