What happened to the Diana 54 Air King? (Great thread about them down the page-long range accuracy and shootability)

Suddenly it's out of stock or simply not available.

I asked this recently, and Hector said there had been some redesign and a  rename.

IIRC, it's come back as the "Airking Pro" and .177 should be here already with .22 arriving soon.

I don't remember specifics of feature changes, only that it wasn't outright discontinued (according to Hector)

I'm not sure where "Bargain Ben" found these, but I do see discontinued stuff pop up from time to time on amz.

Yep, the Diana 54 Airking has been discontinued and, as GWH mentioned, has been replaced with the 54 Airking Pro. I believe it's the same action but in a different stock. It also apparently comes with an adjustable muzzle piece (for when the sights are removed for scope use) to help tune out barrel harmonics. It's available, or will be, as a beech stock model as well as a red laminate stock version.

Claimed velocity is the same as my recently purchased HW97?  My Prosport, from Marty MacNaughton was tightly sprung at 18.5 fpe when I got it.  It's lower now with use but it's still a bear to set.

Might as well carry a whole ham around with you. That's the only drawback I see though. My R1 is heavy at a svelt 8 lbs. Same with my Tomahawk. An 11 lb gun doesn't excite me regardless of its manners.

Having learned to read from left to right, the stock started in sexy red laminate, but let me down in the end.
