Quick and easy fix for Beeman P17/P3 trigger

Figured I'd share since I didn't see it mentioned when searching how to fix my P3 when it was starting to do that thing where instead of going off the trigger would pull all the way back and......nothing until I gave the trigger a few good wiggles. But usually only the first shot of every session. The rest of the time it functioned as it should. I tried a few things I'd read about fixing the problem but there would always be one hangup until I put a drop of hydraulic fluid on the valve stem and on the breather hole a few times to get sucked in ahead of the piston. This will be day 4 of shooting a few groups throughout the day and not one hangup yet, just shot another quick group after I was up and about this morning and still working smooth. 

I put a drop on that brass nut where the valve stem goes in and holding it upside down put the grip back on, then cocked the pistol and shot it a few times. It's tricky to get the drop of oil on the breather hole since you have to do it mid stroke (that's what she said) but it helps if you have a bottle with a needle dropper

I find make a new trigger adjustment screw makes the trigger feel better but to make one a drill press is needed and a screw checker to keep it straight and a new grub screw and part or a 2mm drill bit

This one has maybe 3/16" trigger travel, you can imagine the confusion of pulling til the trigger stops moving and not hearing a bang. Then the "Oh $#*%, what do I do now?" 

Here's a quick group from 7 yards, two hands unsupported with RWS Meisters. I did get another FTF on the first shot but even that one landed inside the group. There's something to the oil though because it was becoming very frequent and multiple times a session up until last week and it stopped until tonight after oiling. I'm really just trying to avoid having to remove anything involved with the trigger in the grip since it looks like a pain to get back in there!

the in and out for the trigger is easy the other parts not so much

so I grab my P17 and the trigger has about 1mm of take up movement, I hate trigger take up and remove it if possible

if the trigger was tap all the way through instead of just bottoming out it is an easy experiment but you have to make a longer dog point grub screw and if the hole went all the way through

you take a 3mm grub screw of longer length and epoxy a 2mm ball bearing on the cupped tip and a magnet is used to do that

just an idea, if you had a 100 people there be 10 different  ideas how a trigger should be so there si never a right or wrong answer
