Please help with filling problem.

I have a Daystate CR94 and connect it to my guppy tank. When I attempt to bleed the line, the entire guppy tank and rifle empties until I can remove the female Foster fittings

I have determined the problem is not with the fill whip. I assume the rifle has some kind of defective one way valve.

I don't like working on airguns and usually send it to a pro. But shipping costs now are very expensive. I would like to try and fix it myself based on your advice.

@donc do you shut the tank valve before trying to bleed? How is the tank emptying if you shut the valve?

Yes tank valve was closed. When I tried it with a different tank, same thing happened.

I tried filling with the guppy first. Rifle and tank bled out when I opened the bleed valve. I then tried my 88 cu ft tank. Alot of air escaped but I eventually was able to disconnect the fill whip. Unlike the guppy tank, This 88 cu ft tank still had some air in it. The rifle reservoir was empty.

I don't know why this is happening. Hope you can give advice.

@donc Did you read Tom Gaylords topic on lubing pcp's?

Are you opening the bleed screw rapidly? I had trouble with air loss when opening the bleed valve slowly. If that doesn't help, the check valve on the fill port is the likely culprit. Airguns of Arizona is the Daystate distributor in the US, they may be able to help. You might try calling them. First question would be Where is it leaking from?

If it does no leak while charging up, that means that the rifle's valve should be in good order.

If, when you stop the fill and BEFORE you open the line-purge screw nothing leaks then the connection train is in good order.

If it ONLY leaks when you try to purge the line, then the check valve in the inlet port is stuck, or has gone bad.

Current Check valves occupy the space of a foster fitting, if what is written about the CR97 is true for yours:

Then a simple spanner wrench will allow you to change the foster/check valve fitting, one of these should fit your rifle:

Having said that, IF the check valve is stuck, THEN a small amount of lubricant might get it unstuck.

Get some Teflon oil and try.
