If you could have a Huben K1, would you prefer .22 or .25? If you can make pellets/Bullets, please contact me

I'm testing a few Huben K1 soon and can't figure out what will be more popular, .22 or .25 caliber.

I like the .22 because it can shoot a 34 grain as fast as I want (super-sonic if I wish). I'd probably set it up at 940 F/S,  or so, we'll see (maybe faster).  The .22 x 34 grain pellet and bullets shot out of a Huben have a terrific BC and speed.

The .25 would also shoot a 34 grain as fast, but since it is wider, it won't have as great a BC, but will hit a critter with a bigger wallop.

So, what's your thoughts/preference?  .22 Cal?  .25 cal?

p.s. The Huben shot great with 34 Grain pellets, but HEAVY bullets were outstanding in the Huben.  If you make bullets, contact me on my cell (714) 612-5956 and we'll try to make them available to all.

I have the 2nd gen Huben I bought from you. I've always thought it should be a .25. I would miss the higher shot count magazine of a .22. What do you think the .25 would hold?

Yeah, I need to find someone that can cast some really heavy pellets.  Would be great to get 100 FPE out of this puppy!

I just happen to have some .250x.254 driveband and .253x.258 driveband 41gr x .32" long bob's boat tails I can send you FOC if they aren't too long.  I've been waiting on the .25 and would like to know how much power it will put out.  Let me know.  Regards, Tom 5four1 nine79 one71seven

Biggest reason I haven't bought a huben is I want >.22

Would love one in .357 but I would settle for .25 if I have to.

It would be great to know how long of a bullet the .25 cal can accept.  The .22 cal will take up to an 11mm bullet.

If the .25 cal was another 1.5mm, then conceivably, it would be able to handle up to a 45 grain bullet.

Send that down range and you're talking 100fpe.

I just confirmed this with Huben retailer in the USA. Huben K1 in .25 can only accept 11mm pellets. Which means you can put a 50 grain pellets in the magazine from NOE molds. Since the barrel has a groove diameter of .254. you better make your own pellet swaging dies or get it from me later on or get one from Corbin. be prepare to spend hard money! Since most of the molds comes out at .252 pellet size. you may not get accuracy out of the Huben.

The 25 cal Huben holds 17 rounds 

Took my 25 cal Huben out for the first time last Saturday and right out of the box

it did much better than my 22 cal Huben did . This group was shot with swage ammo

from Varmintknockers and the 32.80 grain did well at 50 yards and was shooting at 980 fps

I think the group will improve with some tuning , The gun appeared to be shooting even 

better at 100 yards but I was only shooting at small rocks .  here is the 50 yard group .

D Rig i would like to see your 100 target with the 32.8 grains please?

Hey Steve. 

at the time i was making my own swaging dies, i have many prototypes which failed at 100 yards. 

now i am working on another prototype but its more likely for my personal use. besides, there are many slugs designed for huben 25 cal readily now.
