What kinds of mods are you'll doing to the maximus trigger? Does N C Steve have a kit or sear. I am going to put a bugbuster 3x12 on it with a sidewheel. Should make a right nice setup for $358. Now the waiting begins!!!

However, the SuperSear works best in the 2260/Disco/Maximus trigger group if a simple mod (two notches to clear plastic bits in the housing) is done to the Transfer Bar...

I put a Marauder trigger on a Maximus. I had to remove a little of the stock and put a Challenger trigger guard on it. A few mods on that trigger and it makes a nice little gun with a great trigger.

thanks for responding Bob and Steve. I have three marauders so I know and like their triggers. I have a disco and I haven't shot it in a while but I remember its trigger to be ok. Some questions for Steve. With your supersear in a maximus , how much lighter is the trigger pull verses stock. Will it get lighter if I grind slots in transfer bar or is there another function. IS your sear a stand alone mod or would the two screw or three screw mod help out as well. How deep should I cut the grooves to transfer bar. Question for bob. Did the marauder trigger bolt right on. Did you have to inlet or alter anything other than for the challenger trigger guard. Thanks fellows, if I mod the gun I would love to get it right the first time. Anybody else feel free to chime in. Good questions!
1. I just measured pull weights in my SuperSear equipped Disco (same trigger components as the Maxi): 1st stage = 9oz, 2nd stage = 1lb, 10oz. This is radically (~3x) lighter than the stock trigger (resulting from the greater mechanical advantage of the Super), but just as important is the reduction in creep that results from it's true 2-stage function. Note that these pull weights are heavier than a 1st-generation Mrod trigger can be adjusted down to, but I'm not sure a 2nd-gen Mrod (with its redundant "lawyer spring") can beat them without significant modification.
2. The purpose of the transfer bar notches is to allow full 1st stage travel which, among other advantages, makes it possible to omit the coil string that has no purpose but to keep the trigger from flopping around.
3. Totally stand alone. No other mod's are needed or useful.
4. The clearance notches aren't critical - about 1/16" depth is perfect.
