I received my new Diana model two forty today and even it was cold and windy I shot several rounds with the open sights and didn't do too well. Found a like new BSA Sweet .22 scope not being used so I mounted it on the Diana and my targets became much better. Now my question is will the low powered two forty kill the scope? Thanks in advance for any information good or not. Charles

At slightly less than 5 ft-lbs, the scope should survive unless it is a really old model.

I am not sure I would simply forgo the Sweet 0.22".
Once you have "run in" the gun and if you find you got a good one, you can get a better scope.

Update on my BSA scope. Today I called BSA, which is in Rogers, Arkansas, which is only about 15 miles east of me, and asked about the Sweet .22 being used on the Diana. The nice lady looked it up and suggested that is was not suitable for a springer. She also suggested their Outlook line for springer use. I just ordered a new Outlook 3x9x40 AO just for the Diana. Had a couple Diana 24s in the past. Sold one, and kinda pissed my daughter off. Found another, and it still lives with her, 2000 mi away. IF you can find one, a 24 is a remarkable gun. A suitable replacement for the venerable 27, and an honest competitor to the R7/HW30. No experience with the 240, either German or Chinese, but the original German 24 was a wonderful rifle.
