I had my Benjamin hand pump rebuilt last year and it worked fine. I got a tank and hadn't used it in a while. I took it out the other day just to see if it was working ok. I started pumping up my rifle and noticed that while the line to the rifle was holding pressure the gauge was leaking off pressure. Do you think its just a leaking fitting where the gauge threads into the pump or are these gauges known to go bad? I believe this pump is several years old and when I had it rebuilt I was told it had never been serviced before.

Try snugging things down first. If gauge is bad head over to sun optics for parts. New gauge $7.00.
Sun optics did the rebuild. I'm thinking it is just the gauge because as soon as you start pumping again the pressure goes right back up to where is was when you stopped. Hope that's all it is, is a loose gauge. Even though I don't use it I still like having it as my back up in case I ever need it.
