SCOPE FOR FIELD TARGET

Hi Im new to this site and I hope this isnt a question that will have me burned at the stake. I own a hw100 and I have gotten interested in field target comps. I am looking to get a scope for this sport. I have narrowed it down to a
Bushnell 4200 8-32x40
Hawke 4014 8-32x56 side focus
these scopes fit my price point and I have read many reviews but I was hoping that some personal experience could help

Kidding aside, if you stick around I think you will find the people that frequent this forum tend to be alot more mellow and polite than on some of the other sites. even if we aren't any less opinionated! lol

I don't have experience with either but I vote for the Hawke. Sidewheel is the way to go imo.

You can take that to the Bank, stephan! No experience with them here either, but I have watched the episodes on American Airgunner that they have had on Field Target, and read some around the Web on the sport. I agree with diar (for once), a Sidewheel is almost a requirement. At least that is what all of the top Field Target competitors I've read about all use.

I think that when it comes to airguns, especially spring-piston type airguns, Hawke has a reputation for building scopes that can handle the unique punishment that they dish out -- and even the highest quality scopes (like Bushnell) that are not specifically made for these types of rifles will be shaken apart!
